Tigers Ladies show why their on top

For those of you that weren’t there (thanks to Ian Rankin from 4T consultants for coming to introduce yourself to the team), weekend just gone (14th June), saw us host the Clermont Bears and we knew that they would be out for revenge in front of our home crowd, as we had pinched a victory from them, in the earlier round 1 match up at Bear park (26th April score line 28 – 18).
We crossed for the first try scored by Casey Watkins, along with another three (scored by Maria Rawiri, Jess Bell and Tarni Sullivan), including 3 out of 4 conversions, saw the Emerald Tigers Ladies up at half time 24 – 0.
The second half saw a little bit more enterprise from the girls (which didn’t always pay off) and a breach in our defensive line, to have Clermont cross over and convert and bring the score to 24 – 6, but two more tries (one to Casey again and the other to Cooper Hill), saw the Emerald girls close out the match 32 – 6.
Our players player and Old Boys player of the match went to Jenny Whittaker and our 3, 2,1 went;
3 – Nickieta Kent (Lock)
2 – Chantelle Nagel (2nd row)
1 – Jess Bell (Front row)
Jenny Whitaker also claimed the Oldboys player of the match
the game proved, that without your forwards pushing forward, you won’t get far.
