Tigers Ladies back up Minor Premiership with GF Spot

The Tigers ladies headed to Bluff on the weekend to take on Blackwater Crushettes in and rain soaked affair. The Crushers beat Dysart the previous week and were very lively from the start. The Tigers were looking to bounce back after the shock loss to Clermont Ladies the previous week.

The game was stop start due to rain and injuries so both teams found it hard to get a roll on and sometimes the frustration showed through mistakes and timing. Both teams battled hard and went into the break at 6 a piece with Casey Watkins crashing over and Maria Rawiri converting.

Tigers lost gun fullback Tamyra Hunter at the start of the second half with Amy O’laughlin shifting back to cover. With both teams battle for field position some good play by the Tigers saw Kiri Samson score and Maria Rawiri convert to make it 12-6 with 8 remaining.

The Tigers defence held strong with some strong with hits by Cloe Ramsay and Ruby Battes-Ormond keeping the props at bay and qualifying for the Grand Final Next week at Clermont.

Well done to all the girls on the win. Back to training this weeks to make sure we are ready to defend our title.
