Springsure made the trip over to play Emerald on the “Tigers Family Fun Day”. Will the heat kicking in and the beers flowing the day was enjoyed by a good Sunday footy crowd.
Springsure showed lots of passion for their jersey with strong defence and their forwards running with purpose. One forward running hard was 2012 Tiger Matthew Travers. The Tigers looked good in patches but sometimes made mistakes in succession. The Tigers had made a lot of changes due to work commitments and injury concerns.
This meant there was a few who had to stand up. Two of these were defensive second rowers Wade Campbell and Juston Cavanagh who both shared the 1 point. The Tigers only turned over the lead for the middle 20 mins and controlled the lead for the best part of the game. Springsure wouldn’t go away and their hits were still hard right up until the 80m mark. Tigers came away with a 28-18 win.
