Tigers went into round 15 with a few hurdles to jump before the game ,missing some of our key players to both injury and work commitments . Lucky for us the u/ 18 players had the weekend off so it became a perfect opportunity to give these more then capable young men a chance to get some good game time in first grade . All three U / 18 players had a very big part on our success for this game ,Connor Jones ,Josh Johnston and Sabastian Stiegler all have big futures in this game and play well beyond there years well done young men . Returning back to the paddock for us after a lengthy stint in the pastures was, Matt Langby, Dan Bock and Wade “Bluey” Stephenson , these three slotted into there roles like they had never left. The first half seen us rack in seven tries with doubles to David (wolf man ) Williams and Griffin Freeman ,We dominated the speed of the play and the go forward , Middlemount was only able to hit back with one try in the first half . It was a great effort from the team to keep them out on the line at times Middlemount had several opportunities to score in a row but Tigers defence was to strong on there line. With the score board reading 32/ 6 at half time it was clear to say some might think it was going to be a cruise to the end . A reminder to the players of how we lost to Middlemount in the first round by a last second try was all that was needed to give them the mind set of a nil all score board and a must win half was needed to be produced . The pace of the second half was no doubt a little slower but the boys stuck to there game plans and shared the work load to come out victorious 52 / 16. It was a bitter sweet pill to swallow after game as we have sustained yet more injuries to key players that may sideline them until semi football. A big thanks to all supporters and sponsors and look forward to catching up for a yarn – Coach Catip
