Headed to Tieri with a Hoodoo to break the Tigers put in one of their better performances of the year. The Tigers had not won at the Pirates home ground since 2010 and were keen to break the cycle.
The game started out with tit for tat scoring until the Pirates skipped out to 18-12 lead at the break. Losing Henry Watkins at the 30min mark with a knee injury the side took a little to regain their shape. After a halftime talk from Coach Catip about Ball Security and wining the ruck the green and whites started to dominate. With 15 mintues remaining it was 34-22. 3 long range tries were scored with some great displays of support play. The final score was 46-22 and the Hoodoo was broken.
Whetu Austin continues his incredible return to his old club featuring regularly on the scoresheet.
