Ray Ebsworth will mark his opposite number this weekend in North Queensland Cowboy Kyle Feldt. Feldt is playing on the wing for the Medhi Townsville Blackhawks on Saturday Night in the final trial for the CQ Capras. Both players will be wearing the number 5. It will be a good test for Ray and his progress made throughout the pre-season. Kick off is this Saturday 21st @ 6.30pm, Browne Park. It looks to be a wet and wild weekend where ball control could determine the winner.

Ebsworth scores contract at Capras

He has been the safety net at the back of the Pirtek Emerald Tigers for the past 3 years. Amassing a huge tally of points for the Green and Whites being the first choice Goalkicker and also a frequent try scorer, Ray’s form has been noticed by the Jason Hetherington led team.Ray was invited down to CQ Capras last game at Norths Devils last year as 18th man. Ray has also represented the Central Highlands numerous times at the custodial No.1 jersey. The 2014 “Tiger of the Year” has now been signed into the top 25 Capras squad and will fight to get into the top 18 weekly which will play Intrust Cup.
Ray makes the move to Rockhampton this week to join his new teammates for a gruelling pre-season and fight to grab a role in a team who has just added a quality fullback in former Queensland Cup Player of the year Javarn White.
We wish Ray all the best in his future footy.

Tigers get the call up
Josh Johnston(left) and Ray Ebsworth recently got the call up to travel with CQ Capras down to play Norths Devils. The Capras having injuries were looking to give some new players an opportunity to get a taste of Queensland Cup and let them showcase their talent.
Unfortunatly for Ray he was named 18th man on the day and didn’t get to play but Cq Capras staff said they were happy with what they saw at training the previous day. Josh did get to play off the bench and was injected into the game first at second row but then moved to his more comfortable spot off front row. Josh received good comments from the Capras on his gametime and they said “He didn’t look out of place at all”. Unfortunatly the Caparas were convincingly beaten Josh said “the experience was awesome”.
Both players are now on Capras radar for 2015. Hopefully these lads can get a start as regulars in the Queensland Cup in 2015. We wish both lads the best of luck.
